Most writers hate what I love: editing. From analyzing story structure or character development to cutting words to meet your target word count, editing is where your story is lifted from the drafting dirt to shine on the page.


My editing experience includes developmental editing with a traditional small press, technical editing of intelligence projects in my day job, and a forthcoming MFA in Creative Writing (2024).

  • My rates are based on the Editorial Freelance Association's rate chart listed here.

    After your initial consultation, you will receive a project-specific rate (including applicable discounts) with multiple payment options.

  • I understand life gets in the way, you need to take time off from creative pursuits, or want to change the story! This has happened to me more than once and it's part of being creative.

    The milestone payment option allows for project flexibility. If you need to take a break after a milestone, you don't have to pay for the next one right away. Your project will be paused and you can resume when you're ready.

  • Absolutely! Rush projects require an additional service fee, paid in advance, to prioritize them on my schedule.

  • We talk about your story! I get to discover why you want to write this novel/novella and explain how I can best help you move forward. We will discuss the editing service and any lingering questions.

  • Not at all. The developmental coaching package can help you draft or revise a manuscript.

  • Depends on the service and my availability. For example, a typical turnaround time for a developmental edit is four weeks. If you need faster service, book a call with me to discuss your project.

  • When my schedule permits, I can offer coaching sessions outside of the Developmental Coaching package.
