ZEN WITH A MIC
Jen is a seasoned entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in entertainment and digital media, collaborating with major brands and working both in front of and behind the scenes. A NY Hip Hop radio host turned Hip Hop Healer, her evolution into "ZEN JEN" was sparked by transformative life experiences that led her down a path to enlightenment. Today, she serves as a Spiritual and Ascension Coach, and is a certified Reiki I & II Practitioner, offering both group and one-on-one Reiki healing sessions throughout NYC.
Jen's career began in radio and entertainment under the moniker "Jen From BK" paying homage to her hometown of Brooklyn, NY. From 2007 to 2019, she worked at the iconic hip-hop radio station HOT97.1 FM in NYC, interning for Funk Flex, working for the Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg Morning Show, and Ebro In The Morning. She later earned her own radio show, and was promoted to a Digital Manager, where she helped pioneer the station's digital footprint, created a variety of digital shows, and spearheaded social marketing strategies for the station’s annual Summer Jam concert. As a media personality, she hosted numerous red carpets, live streams, made TV appearances, and interviewed celebrities such as Kendrick Lamar, Usher, LeBron James, Viola Davis, and Ryan Coogler. Jen also worked for Apple Music as a Music Content Specialist, influencer marketing for Mass Appeal, and provided social direction and community management for Stella Artois’ U.S. market.
She currently has a radio show on Audacy’s NY’s #1 For Throwbacks Hip Hop and R&B 94.7 FM The Block in NYC and the ZEN JEN: Words of Wisdom podcast, a space for truth seekers interested in spiritual insights and healing wisdom that was inspired by the positive response from listeners of her “ZEN JEN” on-air NYC radio segment.
Jen has collaborated with various brands including Netflix, Hennessy, Maybelline, Nike, Universal Pictures, Spotify, STARZ, NBA, Amazon Prime Video, NYFW, MTV VMAs, TIDAL, Spotify, and more. Who is JENBKLYN—a mini-documentary exploring Jen’s life story, created under her own production company, won "Best Film Production" at the 2018 ConnectHER World Film Festival, and landed in the Top 20 overall. Additionally, Jen was honored with two proclamations from New York City Mayor Eric Adams, for her work in media, philanthropy, and as an Asian American.
